I was just curious. I'm not a web developer but I web design using wordpress. Will me not know how to web develop affect me or limit me from doing anything?

I actually didn't get your question. Please specify you question. If you are designing using wordpress this is the easiest thing you can possible do :) but wordpress is not a great task. Just go for learning great things like php, javascript and then go for their frameworks. This is the real web development if you want to step into the web development field. Specify your question so that I can give you a more detailed answer.

no it won't, but you should get some basic understanding. Watch YouTube videos for more on wordpress development, however the average wp user doesn't need to know. think of it like going on holiday by plane, you don't need to know how it works, just that it stays up in the air

If you're just wanting to create websites for people, Wordpress will work well for you. Knowing CSS will go a long way in helping you customize certain things. It wouldn't hurt you to learn HTML, either. There are all sorts of plugins that will help you accomplish just about anything.

Frankly speaking, I prefer WP most than any other CMS. You can easily achieve any desired project to be created. Read manuals, use plugins, optimize 'em (:

For example, if you want to develop WP Theme, you must know php. With builders, you can build a lot of different variations of design, but they don't have all functions which you might need in the future, so basically you limiting yourself.

The more you try to develop themes, plugins and more by using php and JavaScripts does affect on your web development techniques. It improves your knowledge about it whenever you something wrong you'll understand things better there and then go for their frameworks also dude.

custom post types + advanced custom fields pro is the answer to intermediate WP development.

Web design and web development are two entirely different things. If you are designing WordPress sites, it is not necessary that you need to know PHP and JavaScript. Knowing css will help you in editing designs. That's all.

Well designing WordPress site are now piece of cake due to page builder like Wp Composer. If you are willing to carry on your career in WordPress development try to like PHP and understand the back end of WordPress. I would recommend to start with theme development and then plugin development. After learning the core basics you can easily get a job of full stack developer in any firm. All the best
