Good day all. Please I need your help. I just published a WordPress website yesterday. When I enter the name directly on my browser, it opens fine.
But the issue is; when I enter the URL on google to search for it, it will show on top but will show 'COMING SOON'. Though if you click on it, the page will open fine. But why showing "coming soon"? It could deter someone from clicking it.
I have contacted my host, hostgator , who said I should clear cache. I did all that and even deactivated " mojo" plugin but still the same.
Pls how can I make the "coming soon" on google search go away?
See image below.

Add a meta title to your homepage and wait. It can take days for Google to change your meta title.

@mickvfu Thanks for reply. But pls can you tell me how to go about adding the meta title?

You can use the Yoast SEO plugin for this.
Yoast SEO comes with even more features which can be helpful. You should check it out.

@mickvfu and youngart, thanks alot for your response. I will get to work now...

It will take days to change indexed title in google

More than likely google crawled it when you had it coming soon. My advice would be to install Yoast SEO and then connect to Google WebMaster tools and run a crawl again. It should fix itself fairly quickly.

Thanks to all of you that devoted your time to assist me. I finally used "yoast seo" plugin to generate and submit my site map and thereafter requested it to be indexed via Google webmasters page. And within 5mins, that "coming soon" was changed to the normal write up. Thanks once again.
