After the penguine and panda hit the webmasters there have been the debate on which platform to use.

so while i was searching for the tips i came to this blogs:

http://www.theeaseoffreeze.com/2012/10/why-i-moved-from-word-press-back-to.html

the blog was based why the user moved from wordpress to blogger.

what are your thought.

is the moving to blogger Worth it or wordpress is still the best.

Confuse on so help me here.

Hacks,

The algorithm updates from Google don't target platforms but the things that webmasters do with platforms. The user whose link you posted mentions some highly technical reasons that she had issues moving from Blogger to Wordpress. I would say that if you are using blogger right now and you are happy with it, there is really no benefit to switching. Wordpress (self-hosted) can be more complicated to setup than a blogger blog.

Here is a pretty good overview on the two,

Hope that helps,

Blogger is free and easy to use as compared to wordpress. Some people also say that blogger blogs are indexed faster by google as compared to wordpress blogs. In my opinion, both blogger and wordpress are good.

There are just so many more things you can do with wordpress there is really no comparison. There are so many more plugins and it has a ton more things you can do with it, especially if you are familiar with it.

Google loves both wordpress and blogger sites. They particularly like the sitemaps used in wordpress which make it easier for crawling. It is a matter of personal opinion however both are great platforms.

Definitely this. Over the years I've worked with tons of WordPress setups. The easiest to work with/customize and modify, IMO :).

Wordpress. So much ways to customize it, tons of plugins and so on..

I was thinking the same thing. Blogger is so easy but spend just one day with worpress and you get the hang of the UI pretty fast too. I ended up going with wp because of all the customization you can do.

yes i also like blogger its very easy to use and very good for seo

It's so unfortunate many folks still don't understand what the recent Google updates (Panda, Penguin & EDM Update) is all about.

How in the hell did a blogging platform has got to enhance or attract Google penalty, it's what happens on and off site that really matters and not using wordpress or blogspot. As for me, wordpress is the best and still going to be the best unless some drastic changes is implemented by blogspot.

Just to shed some insight into recent Google updates:

1. Panda - Is targeted at crap content and thin sites. People who scrape content, spin poorly are likely to suffer from this kind of stuff.

2. Penguin - This is about keyword and anchor text spam.. An on and off site issue, people who stuff their site with keywords and focus more on their main anchor text rather than generic terms, diverse back link portfolio, using their anchor 35% or less in their SEO effort are likely to suffer from this.

3. EDM Update - EDM does not rank as quick as it use to anymore since the update, EDM and non EDM now rank alike, that is what it just mean contrary to the widespread believe that owning or using an EDM automatically attracts penalty. You only need to do some Google search and you will see a lot of EDM still ranking, they maintain their position because they weren't just back linked with spamming SEO methods but quality links. And if you must rank now and avoid penalty you need to build quality links and quality links only otherwise anything you do is a short gun approach.

I use Wordpress for all of my personal and client websites. It's so flexible and easy to use I couldn't imagine what blogger offers that it doesn't do better. My vote goes to Wordpress but if you use them properly there should be no difference in SEO. Ease of use is the primary reason I use WP and I have had no problem ranking the sites for competitive keywords.

I like wordpress, coz i am in this level because of it only. Very powerful seo blog script.

Definitely Wordpress for me. It's super user friendly and there are plugins for just about everything! I've tried Joomla and it was nothing, but confusing. I'm sure I would have figured it out eventually, but wordpress took no time at all to learn.

As far as for me, I think that wordpress is still a good platform for blogging.

Wordpress is great but you to be successful with it, you need to learn how it works. I have a plugin that allows me to create literally thousands of blogs at a time - which I could never do in blogger

If you want to do heavy SEO and generate massive traffic to a blog, Wordpress with the self hosting is highly recommended.

If you want to create many blogs for the light SEO, Blogspot is recommended.

What about creating a wordpress site and registering a similar or same keyword subdomain with blogger and then create a link wheel kinda thing using more services like Squidoo, Wordpress.com etc which points to the main domain?
I guess many members here do it ? What do the gurus say?

For blogspot, you have to be familiar with html if you want to customize anything.
