Blogspot got lower metrics in search result which expose the trend of WordPress pages with replica content,WordPress are high metric pages with good ranking in every niches to generate residual traffics fast on post.
 
if you are new to all this i would suggest that you start with blogspot because it is much simpler.with wordpress you have much greater flexibility but the process might be a bit overwhelming for you initially.
 
WordPress is very complete and versatile, and in terms of technical SEO, it is highly configurable with some plugins.
 
Definitely WP on your own domain, Blogspot limits your control and looks less professional to both users and Google.
