WordPress vs. Blogger ?

WordPress will be the best choice. There are tons of plugins and themes created by the developers and users, which makes WordPress powerful than its competitors.

I use Blogger because it was my first blogging platform, and I am quite familiar with it. But WordPress is also great, maybe even better than Blogger. Both can satisfy the needs of every blogger on this planet. They just have to be used properly, and there will be no problems.

Blogger always gets my vote because there is no coding/complicating things and you're on Googles platform.

Start off by Piggy Backing off Google Trends.I am thinking of making a blog to earn from Google Adsense and Affiliate Marketing. I have some niches in mind. I want to ask which will be a better option for me as I am totally new to all of this?
Any opinion will be greatly appreciated

Go for the self-hosted WordPress.org not WordPress.com because the latter is basically the same as Blogger - you have little control over your website and it can be taken away from you on a whim. With self-hosted WordPress it's like owning your own house not renting an apartment.

WordPress if you don’t mind paying. Blogger if you want free and easily integrated adsense

If you don't have to buy domain, blogger could be great with adsense approval
