7) Add links to pages in your footer, targeting other keywords you want. For example, in my footer I may have Green Widgets Accessories whihc links to the page titles Green Widgets Accessories.

I then build backlinks to that page using the anchor text "Green Widgets Accessories" obviously. This is linking to deep pages.

I have found that doing this, after a while Google uses some of the footer links as Sitelinks below my listing in the SERPs.

I guess this is due to the deep linking, but also the fact that the Footer links will be on every page of my site.
 
8) If your WP theme doesnt allow you to exclude pages from the main navigation bar, here is the code you need to put into your header file to do that. I use this when I create links in my footer, I exclude that same link from the main nav. There are most probably plugins which do this, but hardcoing elements in your WP theme will speed up the loading

The code above is the code in the themes header file. The bit of interest is the "&exclude=5'". 5 is the refernce to the page you want to exclude from the navigation bar. To find the number for a page, go to the WP admin section, click on pages, click on the page you want to exclude (as if you are going to edit the page) and in the address bar, you will see a number towards the end. This is the number that you will use.

Well its difficult to say what actually did what, as I developed these tweaks over many months. But basically a number of my sites are in the number 1 spot for my keyword, my inner pages are also at number 1 spot for that keyword, and all my sites have google sitelinks in my listings.

So as a whole, its defintely working

But its also necessary to know that on the other hand, some of my sites with the same method dont have the number 1 spot. So I am constantly looking for extra tweaks and methods
 
9) Make sure there is only one H1 tag on the page. Either use a plugin to do this or hard code the pages in your theme. To check that this is done, use Firebug in Firefix to analyse the page for H tags

10) Remove your site name from being in every single title in your blog, which is usually the default in WP. You can do this easily with something like all-in-one-seo. If you are trying to build a brand, then it might be worth any potential seo loss, but otherwise, having the same phrase verbatim in every title could hurt you.

I doubt that because some sites don't even have footers (or very small ones) and that would mean they get penalized just for having content towards the bottom of the page. Furthermore, that can easily be gamed by just adding fluff after the footer links. Don't see that a plausible strategy from Google's view. Just my 2 cents...

If I dont deep link to the footer links then nothing much seems to happen, however when I build backlinks to the footer links and in some cases linkwheels around the pages, then google puts these in the sitelinks below my listings. Ive managed to get sitelinks on everyone of my sites
 
I am unsure how effective the copyright next to the keyword/url is, however i have seen it mentioned in a few websites that Google may like that and possible enhance PR. This is completely speculation of course, however the small amount of time it takes it may just be worth doing anyway. i cant see it harming your site in anyway
