Wordpress sucks why do people use it

We love to get hacked that's why we use wp.

WP is easy to use, can easily be extended with plugins. This is means getting a site online takes minutes. It will take a lot longer if you have to write a CMS like WP from scratch. It's about speed and convenience and from search engines perspective, they all know how to crawl WP.

Sure, if you know php and going to put a few pages that you will forget about, go with it.

If you don't know php or even if you do and need to put a site that requires content to be updated, why reinvent the wheel - go with WP.

It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. No CMS platform is going to be perfect. Just like no one programming language is a "one size fits all".

People use WP because it's fast, easy, convenient, lower learning curve, etc. If you're building an intensive site with lots of data and database queries then you don't use WP but for most IMers, WP is a perfectly viable solution. I forget what the exact stat is but some large percentage of all websites on the entire internet is run on WP. The question you should be asking - how many of those WP sites out there are used for blackhat purposes.

I don't like WordPress either, but it is useful to people who just want to get a site up and running in minutes with no technical ability.

I much prefer October CMS though. Take a look if you're interested it's based on Laravel and has great support.

Why do people go through the trouble of using wordpress for site.Just learn to program so you'll have more control of the website like databases and implementation of php

First of all, not all people can learn programming.
Secondly, usually many people do not need those "magical things", because what they need is building blogs with good and orginal contents at very fast speed. WP is the best choice for building PBNs.
Thirdly, if you are good at php, you can customize wordpress site to wherever you want. Develop based on a content management system like WP is always better then do everything from scratch.
Finally, WP is so popular and has actually become a standard, many developers develop powerful themes and plugins for it.

Well anything sucks if you don't know how it works. Spend some time learning to use the platform and you'll likely find it's actually quite flexible.

Because it helps people to scale up things very quickly. Nowadays, people don't have just one website, 10s, 100s and 1000s and this is where you need something substantial to help you grow, and that's where WordPress comes into the picture.

But if you do have the time to code a website every single time, then you could spend time designing each and every website :)

Why do people use WP? Because it's so easy to use, it's free, has a huge community supporting it - and lots of other people are using it.

There are other alternatives too ... but since lots and lots of people are using it, new webmasters too seem to gravitate towards it.

Most webmasters do not know any PHP. They want to get their websites online and working without having to pull their hair out trying to debug code they do not want to understand.

So why would they not use WordPress?

So how much money are you earning by doing things your way? The game is all about earning a living, not what platform we all use. I've read on BHW that some do not like Joomla or Drupal etc, however I have earned a good income from them and of course Wordpress. Like I said, it's the living we make not the way we make our websites.

It would take me more time to build a site with php which will be at power to a wordpress site.

Sorry but I value time.

Why should I learn how to program if there's Wordpress??

Well, you could do everything in your way... that's the point. No limitation, you can do everything you want.

I mainly code the websites by myself, but for blogging or article related websites? Nah... I prefer WordPress!
