you ask for the cost right??????

$4 is enough.

1. get a domain from namecheap (should be less than $4 and accepts unverified paypal)
2. get a freehosting @ 000webhost / freehostia / 3owl
3. install wp manually using cuteftp or similar.
4. use "pagelines platform" theme. very easy to use and free.
5. happy website building!
6. once site has set up.. apply for adsense or whatever that monetizes your site.

You see, you can start a website with less than $5

Sorry to hijack the theat but , i've done pretty much what you say , except the adsense part , it just doesn't load .
It just won't load , where do i have to log in , do you know other ways to monetize it?

Regarding wordpress, if you are going to shared hosting, you will most probably find it included in the hosting package for free, where you can get your hosting from around $3/month and ranges to much higher prices for unlimited hosting space and unlimited bandwidth.

Regarding templates, there are lots of sites one of them is:
rockettheme is a good one for themes

I just wanted to tell you this , if you dont want to spend money on themes , you can use a program called artisteer , to generate your own , it can generate random themes , and you can add your logo to it , change styles colors , etc.

Might just be me but I'm thinking ThemeForest is being spammed/advertised on here... mentioned 3 times by 3 newbies.

There are places to that will do a very professional job at hosting and setting up your WP website for under $100 a year. If you google it you'll see what I mean. Just tell them what you want and the ones I've seen are very good if that's what you are looking to do since you said you didn't care for the cheap setups, ie., themes or what have you.. just another option for you.. All the best..

Maybe I'm idiot and don't have any sense of IM but setting up a wordpress blog is so easy and fast I'd do it for free as long as I don't have to create a theme for it.

I wouldn't provide a host/domain though.

Web coordinator - go for hostgator with no contact annually deal , go for per month with 0.01usd as first 1 month analyze.
Domain - namecheap is best though looking for affordable then go to godaddy.
Themes - themforest or elegantthemes.

Why not using the free theme first ? If you're satisfied with it, then continue with the paid version. If installing wordpress in a domain, there are a lot of theme to choose, just filter it according to the need.

Try Godaddy, it will only cost you $66.06 for dot com website for one year. It also comes with WordPress, Drupal, Joomla etc. just for $66.06

For hosting, you can go for Blue Host or eHost they are both affordable. For Wordpress themes, Nimbus Themes and ThemeForest is good.
