Wordpress Site

Evening all. Need a bit of advice. My site is wordpress however this post is more to do with seo. Apologize if wrong section however I can not seem to post in the seo section.

Bit of a newbie when it comes to seo, I know a fair bit but definitely not confident enough to do it myself. I currently employ a company who is doing all my work for me. Link building, key words, blogging etc. What I am struggling with is that how can I monitor the company. How do I really know if they are doing a good job. When I ask I seem to be getting the same sort of reply which is we are working very hard at it and these things take time. That I understand and to be fair it is early days however I really am not convinced.

Can anyone give me any pointers?

It is only month 2 and not expecting much but going forward what things can I look out for?

Best way to get good SEO is for you to do it yourself. Don't just sit down and expect good result. No company can guarantee you 100% good result,you need to learn also yourself.

You need to learn SEO, otherwise you don't even know what to expect from your service providers

Ok well you kind of re iterated what I already said. I am learning but you dont learn everything over night hence why I asked the question here.

ask them for proof of completion but if your not seeing traffic then I would go with someone else. Depending on how long they started the project.

Check daily for backlinks, visitors amount(where they come from), try to search your indexed sites on google, yahoo, bing and etc

Thanks all. I personally think my suspicions have kind of been confirmed. I have been checking backlinks and in my opinion there arent very many. I raised this before and they just say that no tool is accurate.

It is early days and not really getting any traffic coming in from organic searches which again is dissappointing. Even after only 7 weeks I would expect something.

This is what you need to do. Learn at least basics of SEO so that you can know what you want and what to expect from your service provide.

Put it this way. I am expecting to see more back links than what I see. I am expecting my key word phrases to be progressing all the time. The thing I am most frustrated about is when I ask to see evidence its always a case of its early days and we are working hard at it.

I am slowly learning but I want it done properly. If I did my own campaign I would probably get my site taken down for spam or something lol.

Check what kind of back links they are building by searching your site on Ahrefs. If they are shitty links then raise an eyebrow. But then again, if you are new to SEO, how will you know a good link from a bad one? Just keep learning mate and ask your SEO company to provide more regular updates of what they are doing!

Yeah was told to use that one yesterday and according to ahrefs only 9 domains are pointing to my site with 22 back links. I may not be an expert but I know that is very little.

yea id say check the quality of ach backlink that will help
