Wordpress site - to use CAPTCHAs for user comments or not?

Hey guys,

I'm deliberating whether or not I should implement CAPTCHAs in the user comment areas of my product review site. I will have akismet running but not sure if this will be enough to prevent all spam. On the other hand, I don't want to discourage users from leaving reviews by having to fill out an annoying CAPTCHA.

What are your opinions on this?

I use captchas. Legit users wont mind in my opinion.

Yeap, use captchas, this way you will filter out retarded 4 words comments as well. If I was to post a 50-200 words comment I wouldn't mind typing a captcha...

Yes use captchas, but don't use those really daft unreadable ones. Even the daily mail newspaper uses captchas

Definitely worth it to use capthas. And I'm pretty sure the plugin I use doesn't ask already-logged-in users to reenter the captcha.

Just remove the url from comment form and disable html from comment itself. You should be fine.

I'd use them...otherwise, expect to be SPAMMED to death

Yes why not? They are only slightly annoying. use a captcha plugin. You can provide a sign in option to users and then no captchas..
