Wordpress Site Rankings

I have a blog that is around 7 or 8 months old. It has an EMD, and around 11 pieces of unique content that was written by me. Each article contains around 2 to 3 links to an affiliate. Good descriptions and titles, varied anchors.

The site stayed in the #1 and #2 spots for those first 7 months and made a ton of sales. Over the last month and a half it has been slowly dropping and its now on page 4 of google for my keyword. The site has a twitter page, some social bookmarks and a couple of Press Releases. At the time it was dropping it had 8 articles, i added one article per week but it doesn't look like it helped.

I want to continue with SEO and start my tier 1 link building, will that help the site at all? I know the site sells so I don't want to scrap it. Can I save it? This also happened to another blog of mine but that blog only dropped to page 2 in the 4th spot. Same details as the first site.

trying increasing its content so when Google crawl it found its running. and try twittering your website updates and on other media. and you'll see results bingo

It sure does. Keep away with SAPE and similar.

Try and continue adding some high pr backlinks to your website to boost it's ranking.

It will drop because you are not doing link building on the site.

Some of your competitors build links.

I suggest, create content and continue on building links. Quality links rather than quantity links.

Yes my tier 1 links have been mapped out and will all be done manually.

Good to hear, update us with what happened.

Every site has a Grace period, Google, Bing, & Yahoo all do this. For a period of time your site will rank well while it's new. Kind of a trial period. But after the grace period is over you will fall. Buy some High PR Links from Private Blog Networks.

You already have the most significant data needed to take this a different direction.

If you know the site converts, and you know the conversion rate, look t PPC and see if it's feasible to earn ore than you spend.. You should be able to find a $100 adwords coupon after you spend $50. (I might have even have one around here.) Target the words with a PPC campaign and see if you can profit.

You may have a "Pour 10 dollars in this end, get 20 out the other end" situation on your hands.

If it works, drive paid traffic with PPC, and identify terms and websites that convert. Use media buys on these high converters to get a cheaper ad rate and increase ROI.

Use this revenue to build the authority of the site until it ranks again.
