Wordpress site loads slowly

i have suffusion theme. I think the theme is too heavy because of all the customization options. I need best tips to speed up a wordpress site.

Obviously I need to look at other themes. I have caching plugins. I don't have that many plugins on my site.

This is an active community engagement blog that I put unique content on.

Googling "suffusion slow" gives many results, so I think it might be a problem with the theme as you already suggested.

One of the results had a solution that might or might not work for you:

"Go to Sidebars and Widgets -> Sidebar Layout and disable JQuery Masonry"

Yes suffusion theme is slow. To speed up your wordpress blog, remove unused plugings and comment, Compress Images, Compress Your Code. The complete guidance can be found here:

If it just started happening I would also look to make sure you weren't a victim of the timthumb exploit.
