anyone here aver used the Top Level Categories plugin for wordpress ? Is this good for silo structure ?
im skeptical as to how much of a difference using a "silo" structure actually makes. it seems like 80% of seo is backlinks, 19% is putting keywords in the url, title , h1 tags, using a proper keyword density, and that sort of stuff. id guess that stuff like silo structures and internal linking are 1% of it at most. but i could be wrong, i havent done a ton of experimenting with internal linking so if anybody has any hard evidence that it makes a significant difference and is worth spending time on instead of backlinking, please share your experiences.
I've used a Silo Plugin on a couple of my Blogs. You need a decent number of posts in each catagory for it to work well. I'm not sure it made a great difference. In theory it should help you get all your pages indexed and help direct PR to your main page but I'm not sure it helped much - others may have had better success. Maybe I didn't notice much difference because I make sure all my inner pages get indexed anyway.
this plugin is adding nofollow tag to your all links(int as well ext).I had experienced traffic drop.
Wordpress is actually really good for building single theme based silo websites. I myself used this and this is really best. Wordpress is offering this and making your work the best one too.
I know this is an old thread - but it does show up when searching the forum for info on how to silo WordPress Things have moved on a lot since this thread was started - here's an up-to-date WordPress siloing thread: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-wordpress-silo-sites-using-free-plugins.html If you don't want to wade through 600 plus posts, you could just go straight to siloplugin.com site and find out about siloing wordpress and see some demo sites built with wordpress silo plugin and theme packages
