    Hi

Anyone here have a link to a WordPress SEO guide?

I'm totally new to WordPress (just managed to get it intalled on my computer today). My goal is to create a site based on WordPress, the site will have about 10 pages. I'm using All in One SEO Pack plugin...

I could have used 10 static html pages but I read in another thread that it good to be using WordPress, as Google loves WordPress  In that post it said it was easier to get indexed when using WordPress

    any suggestions on SEO guide?

The All-in-One SEO plugin and a good permalink structure are all you need. WP does the rest. I like using a simple permalink structure like this:
    Code:
    /%postname%

    Olden,

Are you familiar with the Thesis WP theme? Do you think all-in-one SEO pack is useful in addition to that or would Thesis cover the bases? I'm familiar with Thesis but not all-in-one...thanks!

I really can advice the one and only - seo plugin for wp: http://wpseo.de
It does a really good job, and in my opinion all in one seo is crap against it.

agreed, All-in-One SEO is highly effective.

    If I may add
    - keywords as page titles, description, H1, bold, and italic at athe end of page.

    - some ppl also recommend category / post title for permalinks to increase keywords withing url (that is given you name categories correctly )

    - some ppl also link (anchor text keyword) from the footer and main keywords eg : great keyword 1, great keyword 2 -link, etc

    - create a sitemap

    - make sure to always validate markup, css, html using
    validator.w3. org

    - another important thing IMO is the theme, don't use the fanciest as they tend to completely bloat your site and slow down loading time.
    I use thesis.

and finally work on your backlinks and see the moolah roll in

as always that is my opinion andI am sure there many different schools of thought on this topic.

    good luck

Yes, the best custom structure is /%postname%/
Just install the All in One SEO Pack and Google XML Sitemaps. Don't have too many seo plugins, your settings will screw up.
