    Hey everyone!

I have a WordPress website and I encountered a rewrite problem today. Basically, when you create a new category on your WP website, the link yourwebsite.com/category will lead you to the category page. However, if you create a page which has the same link as the category, WordPress will give priority to the page, so when your visitors go to yourwebsite.com/category, they will be redirected to the page, rather than to category archive.

I wanted to create a few pages today which would be used instead of category archives, but WordPress doesn't redirect to the pages. I can use that redirections (301 or something), but it increase page load time, so I don't believe that's a smart idea.

Could anyone help me please? How can I make WordPress give priority to pages over categories?
    Thanks!
