    Help, anyone?

    I'm trying to redirect a post (eg myurl.com/this/) to a page on the same site... all of the redirect plugins that I've tried have failed to work.

    Any clues, or suggestions?

    I've used Quick Page/Post Redirect on many different installations of WP and it works well every time. Have you tried that? If you have, how did you implement the redirect (quick redirects or page redirect) and what was the result?

    Plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin/

    If it's only one page then you can try editing the .htaccess: https://codex.wordpress.org/htaccess

    If you're trying to redirect multiple pages you may want to look into your WP installation. There may be a problem with your WP installation that causes all the plugins not to work.

    Indeed that was one of the first ones that I tried; but it didn't yield any results. I in fact tried it several times, on several pages, in several different ways, and for all intents and purposes it appeared as though the plugin just wasn't doing anything.

    @TheeAriGrande - it's a one-click install, on a hostgator shared plan. I have 20+ of them running on that hosting package alone, and each of them have been fine; until this issue I'm experiencing today!

    The fact that you're running 20+ sites on a single shared plan could be the problem. The plugins may assume that you're only running a single site.

    PM me if you'd like some help. I'm just finishing up some work and have some free time.

    Appreciate it - I will, if HG doesn't offer a solution :)

    .htaccess redirect isn't working? It should be.

    Are you sure you set it up properly?

    .htaccess method should be used because it is faster, I always try to avoid as many plugins as possible.

    By using .htaccess, only Apache is called. With plugin, we have to go thru Apache -> PHP -> Mysql.

    create a page with a text editor.
    On this page put the following contents in plain text:

    Code:
    <?php

       header( 'Location: http://www.yourdestination' ) ;

    ?>
    Replace "http://www.yourdestination" with your destination URL, but leave the single quote mark at the end, and do not remove the one before "location".

    save this page as"myurl.com/this/pagename.php" and upload it to your server.
    (where the pagename.php is the name of the page you are trying to redirect to the new destination page..
