Wordpress Questions??

ke398 · Apr 4, 2008

Hey everyone.

I just uploaded a fresh copy of wordpress, and I have a quick question.

How do you create the blog titles/url?

My posts show as http://www.somesite.com/blog/?=p4

How can I change the titles to read http://www.somesite.com/blog/subject-you-want-to-read?

Is there are any tricks to improve seo on worpress pages?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You change it in your admin menu

Settings -> Permalinks

Here you can costumize your permalink structure. Check the "Custom Structure" and in the empty field put

Code:

/%postname%/

That's it.

Depending on how your blog is laid out - you may want to add in the category to your permalink structure, to push more relevance for your categories.

Code:

/%category%/%postname%/

Just a thought... on those blogs of mine that I have category structure, I add in the category to my permalinks - works decently for me.

You can also use:

Code:

/%category%/%postname%.html

or for those who would like to run custom php scripts in WP:

Code:

/%category%/%postname%.php
