How would I go about creating a short code and be able to list say the 5 most recent posts in my wordpress sites on the home page

*not looking to show them all there..

Creating a shortcode?

To display the 5 most recent post on your blog, for to your site's admin dash, settings > reading.

Hi mate,

as extreamephp said, change the reading settings.

WP Dash > settings > reading settings > Blog pages show at most 5

is wordpress site more valuabe than any other??
