Hi everybody, I just created my first Wordpress website based on pages instead of articles (I have a few blogs): I thought that - being the site structured as a buyers' guide - it would be better to have pages.

But there's a problem: after 10 days from its creation (I also have submitted it to Webmaster Tools) the site isn't indexed at all. I try to search it with the "site:" command and google doesn't find anything.

Is it maybe because there are only pages on the website?

10 days is a bit early, I'd wait a bit longer as google is a law unto itself

Oh, really? I had websites indexed after 2-3 days... So I will wait a bit more and go on building content. Thanks!

Well I'm no expert in seo but what I have read on here there has been a Google update so maybe that's why

This has absolutely nothing to do with posts or pages or anything.

What kind of domain is that? Was it previously used? Have you bought it from someone? It can easily have a penalty which prevents it from indexing.

1+ with the above suggestion, usually google index wordpress pages within few days. I'd go with wordpress pages if you are building a small to medium niche website, based on my experience wordpress pages have more weight and better structure than posts for on-page SEO.

Yeah I usually just stick with pages. Posts can get annoying for me to do when I am making a wordpress site. But you might want to check to make sure that you haven't discouraged search engines from accessing your site. Just google that and there is a setting in WordPress to click it on or off. If it isn't that then I would go along with Nargil said.

Hi Nargil.
It's a third level domain (let's say: site.freesites(dot)com) and it's completely new....

Hi everybody, just a quick update: I did a mix of what you suggested (thanks!) and now all the pages are being indexed almost instantly. Let's hope everything goes well from now on!

Share Pages On Social Sites And Submit A XML Sitemap.
