Hey guys,

started ranking a MNS, and ive notice something.

the highest ranked page is a post on my home page. for example.

http://www.myurl.com/postOnHomePage is ranking higher than

http://www.myurl.com/

the post ranking is on the homepage, just wondering if this will have negative effects and how to solve it if so? i imagine this will have some kinda cannonicalization implications...

google ranks whatever they think is most relative to the search term. They must think that post on your front page is more relevant in whole than your homepage.
Have you built links to that page? If not I would just keep building links and work on your onsite seo to make it more relevant to the keyword you are targetting.

This is an easy one... Just let me know how old the site is and how many backlinks the homepage and the page in question has.

Same for me! I have a few WordPress sites and my website never ranks but if I post something, the post will rank HIGH! So every time I post I get 100 - 1000 unique visitors in a day till the next 3 days.
