Wordpress Plugin to compress Images

Hello,

i checked my website on Googles PageSpeed Tools. It says that i should compress a lot of images.
But i use WP Smush and that say that all images are compressed.

What do you usw to compress the images?

Give EWWW Image Optimizer a shot.

I resize them to a size that makes sense, compress them with compressjpeg.com or compresspng.com, then further automatically compress with WP Smush Pro.

Do not upload enermous 10mb images on the server. Yes wordpress does resize it for you, but its not good enough.

Prepare the images before you upload them, resize + optimize and then upload. There on the WordPress side, WP Smush is good enough.

Also, if you can afford paying couple bucks a month, definitely go for CDN.

Smush it. The free version is limited, but if you want to use all the other plugins then you can upgrade.

WP Smush is great, use the size you need in terms of resolution and use WP Smush.

If you want a good site to compress images use tinypng.com

Don't use Smush. It'll do nothing to improve your pagespeed score. Rather install this: https://en-za.wordpress.org/plugins/tiny-compress-images/. You'll just need to register for a tinypng API key.

Smush is horrible. It does create issues with Google and in a couple of cases has lost me all of organic traffic. Once removed, traffic returned.

Check out Resmush.it plugin, it uses the same technology to compress images as the squoosh.app which is made by Google, or you can do it manually with the squoosh tool

I agree with the post above, use https://imagecompressor.com/ before you upload the images on the server, you dont even need WP-SMUSH after that..

Don't forget to convert them into webp. It will be helpful during ranking.
