    Hey guys
I have an idea for a plugin for wordpress and just wanted to see what everyone thinks before i go ahead and develop it

Basically, it would be a rewriter, that rewrites articles pulled from other sites using synonyms and what not. Yes, every other article rewriter is shit, and mine will be too, but there is a twist!

Rewriters always result in unreadable garbage that a human can see is rubbish by just reading half a sentence. But my idea is this:

The plugin would only rewrite content for bots (spiders), so when bots come to the site they get the rewritten drivel. It should still index because to a bot it will make more sense. It will pick up on keywords and phrases, and since the content is unique, hopefully it will get indexed

When a human visits the site (ie; a browser) the site will display the non rewritten content, so it is 100% readable

    What do you guys think?

i think the idea is fantastic, but in reality i dont think it shall be possible to do.

Bots and spiders do not view the content being on display. They view the data in the file and read though all the tags and code and can tell which part is featured where on the page, so if the code doesnt look like it is displaying what ever you want it to then its going to fail.

A really nice idea though, but i just dont think its possible

    It is most definitely possible
The articles are stored in the database, and when the site is visited (by a bot or human) the html pages are created by PHP which requests the data from the database. The articles would be rewritten before they are outputted as html. Bots still receive the data from the database, they just "ignore" the html tags, and look for content

Its a simple plugin to create

In wordpress you have access to "the content" before it is output on the page. Just do a spin if the referring IP is in a known bot list, else leave it alone.

If I remember correct, you need to watch the page data size is very close for both human & bot.
