Wordpress Plugin for Recent/Featured Posts?

Hey everyone, hope you all are having a good day!

I have recently created a wordpress site, and have been playing with the layout. I have decided how I want things to look, but need some help getting there.

I need a "Featured Posts" type of widget. I would like to "feature" the 4 newest posts on my site, across the top of the page horizontally, listing the titles of the posts and placing a picture next to each one. I have searched all over wordpress for relevant plugins, but none of them have been able to do such a simple task...

Any ideas on what plugin/widget will help me achieve this?

I forget the names but there are plugins that allow u to place a widget on a page/post. just search on the wordpress site and you will find some.

Well I'm kind of going for the opposite: I already have a space for a widget, but I need a widget that will pull the titles of my last posts and give it an image... think "Featured articles" and 4 horizontal boxes, picture and title linking to the article.

theres a tutorial i just seen on this as i wanted the same. or i think its simulular.
