Wordpress or not to Wordpress?

I've been looking for good squeeze and sales page themes in Wordress and I cant seem to find any decent ones that are not atleast 100$

Most of the sites who sell these 100$ Wordpress Sales / Squeeze page theme packages don't offer a real live Demo of the themes, so abviously, i'm not going to buy it because I only saw a screenshot of it.

The only good free and customizable Sales page themes I found are simple HTML pages. I tried to convert a few of them into a Wordpress theme, but once converted I couldn't run my Easy Digital Downloads plugin in it (to sell my eBooks).

This all seems like a nightmare and i'm thinking of doing it oldschool and just upload the HTML themes as a static page instead of trying to convert them to Wordpress.

What do you think about this issue, do you use Wordpress for Squeeze / Sales pages? Do you know what might be the issue why i'm not able to run my PHP plugins in my customized HTML themes in Wordpress?

You can already find this wp, no need to convert.
You can do this for other things you need.
Whatever other people have most of them will be shared.
When you make some decent money, purchase the product/s.

Also I remember the days when people used to actually respond to new threads on BHW
