In your opinion what pages seems to rank better and hold their rankings?

I think you want to compare Wordpress with other CMS. And yes, Wordpress is very good for SEO.

According to experience - Wordpress is more SEO friendly. It has ping service built in everytime we post something new. That's why we often get our worrdpress site indexed faster.

If you intend to build a landing page, then HTML is the way to go. Sometimes wordpress are too heavy for slow internet browser. fast loading speed = better conversion rate.

If you often update / customize your site, go for wordpress as it gives you a very easy interface to change many things without touching code. Still, picking light theme is recommended

There's no difference to the search engine. Wordpress just makes life easy.

agree with dannny, I use WP simply because it's easier (lot easier) to control the overall site.
