Wordpress Multisite is AMAZING!

Alright, so this isn't going to be one of those "follow me on my journey to get rich while you all PM me a million times and I tell you that I'm not sharing anything specific because it's all my ideas" kind of threads. It is, however, going to be a post about the Wordpress Multisite function with subdomain support.

I created a blog domain earlier (kind of a one-size-fits-all domain) so that I can start my autoblog empire. I installed a plugin that automatically adjusts the settings for any new site you create, plus I deactivated all themes except the one I want on all of my blogs and then edited that theme so it looked prettier and then inserted my Adsense code into the theme. Now, every time I create a new little "topic" blog, it automatically carries over all the settings that I chose as well as the theme and all of the Adsense info and all the tracking code without me ever having to touch the internal workings of the themes on the topic blogs. On top of that, all these little "micro" autoblogs are subdomains of my main blog, so it's like keyword.blog.info. (Yea I know, I chose .info, but the reason for that is because the .com for the main keyword was chosen, and I didn't want to give up the keyword because it gets over 2,500 global searches per month and only has about 10,000 websites on Google when you search for it.

I've got one main blog which sort of targets ALL of the keywords and then I have 20 "network" blogs all directed at different topics. These 20 blogs are all pointed to from my main blog and all 20 of them point back to my main blog. So with a little bit of patience, they should start drawing in some traffic soon (hopefully). The last time I did an autoblog (about three or four months ago) I was pulling in about 50 visitors a day, and all I did was tweaked the blog settings the first day I installed Wordpress and then just let it run on autopilot.

I was stupid then because I never tried to monetize it, I just let the domain expire and never thought to keep it going. But now, I'm going to push Wordpress as far as it can go and see just how much content I can get in on this one domain. I've got all 21 blogs updating at least once a day and pulling at least 5 new articles per site in one go. So with any luck, it'll continue to pull in 100+ fresh posts every day mixed between the blogs which will keep it fresh. I didn't want it to pull too many posts because I didn't want it to seem "unnatural."

So anyway ... Anyone else have any awesome luck with autoblogging with the new Wordpress Multisite feature? I'm hoping this works out well because I'd love to be able to have complete 100% autopilot income, especially from Adsense.

EDIT: Before anyone responds with the "autoblogs are dead dude, move on" -- I'll have to tell you to kindly find a new thread to troll. I'm still going to work on an autoblog because I absolutely love the idea of them and I'm determined to NOT LET THEM DIE!

Yup multi-site is the way to go for any serious IMer I believe.

You can map websiterhere.com's to your other sites that isn't part of your main blog.

I use multisite to handle a number or sites. Number of niches. A number of domains as well.

Yea.. I didn't want to purchase 20+ domains today so I figured what the hell.. I'll take my chances and keep it all organized with subdomains.

Subdomains linking to the main domain are not equal to multiple domains. I'm not doubting your strategy, but you'll need additional link building.

It's a feature of creating multiple blogs on one wordpress install. It was called wordpress-MU, but since WP 3.0 it's in the core - you just have to turn it on.
However more advanced setups are a bit tricky.

Autoblog.. with adsense? You'll get your account banned for that.

If you want to game adsense right, you are better off running a click jacking script as opposed to 20 subdomains on the same tld with the same adsense code.

It's not a good idea to have many niche topics on one domain (not 100% about this as this is essentially how all the Flog sites work.) Either way, you're autoblogging with AdSense. Might wanna reconsider your strategy. Let us know.

I am currently autoblogging and using wordpress. But only for backlincking purposes. I have 10 domains and more thank 20K pages per domain indexed. I am using multisites feature, too, but no adsense on these subdomains blogs.
