I was at the Blog Splammer webinar last week, but have THE most basic of questions, so PLEASE don't slam me!!

    1) I believe I need to install Wordpress MU edition, BUT can't find a copy. Does anyone know where I can get it?

    2) IF and when I get this, can you tell me where I need to install it/ In the public html or in a folder for my unique niche? Do I have to install it in ALL folders for my niche or just the once.

    MANY thanks for your help,

    Use the google search engine
    type in Wordpress MU
Click on the first entry WordPress MU › Home
    Click on Download link
Read install info and check their forums, there is plenty of info on this.

If you want any kind of internet success at all, don't be lazy, do as much as you can first and then when you get stuck, ask for help.

    Good Luck

I was trying this ALL day, and the issue is I believe I need version 2.6 and ALL of the sites are only offering 2.7 (the latest version) as a download.

I have uploaded this, and created the wp_config file

After this, the install just goes to a blasnk index.php page.

    Any thoughts?

I had a look on forums and they said to set everything to 777, which I did, but still this happens?

No need to create any file, just extract all the files on your server and go to your domain. ex: yourblog.com
Auto installer will start and it will create necessary config file.

If you get stuck contact your isp and ask for help.
Some servers need to be configured from the inside for WpMu to work properly.
If you have a decent provider they will walk you through it.
You need to be careful when changing your permissions.

Mentioned pretty often is Dreamhost as a provider which is supposed to work quite well. But I haven't personally used them.
