I'm new to wordpress
and I'm just wondering
What's the best way to monetize a wordpress blog?
I'm already going to use adsense of course which brings another question..which adsense plugin would you guys recommend?

Depending on what your niche is this can change.

The most common ways are CPA offers, ClickBank, Physical Products, Adsense.

To manage your adsense I would recommend you to learn how to insert them directly into the website code using the theme editor.

Or you can just use a plugin like easy adsense.

You can use datafeedr.. they provide a plugin that helps you build niche affiliate stores... its really simple to use...

You can also do product reviews.. make your homepage a static page and provide some bonuses to incentivize users to buy through your link.. and get your new blog to rank for product keywords easily enough.. and then you are making money

And for the easy to use plugins check this out : Smart Ads, All in One Adsense and YPN, Ad Rotators for your widgets, Datafeedr Ads you need to tweak the theme a bit, just search in the official wordpress plugin directory and you'll find all you need .

I use mostly adsense and CPA. I have Amazon on one blog too, but no money yet from them.

It really depends on your niche, but I would say the top 5 are

1. CPA
2. Adsense
3. Amazon
4. Clickbank
5. Afilliate links

Depending on the niche, this can be terrible, for example a whitehat blog with a few 100 uniques a day, wouldn't make much, the whole object of blogger is to give people information on a topic, unless it's important/hard to find information, they won't bother spending the required time to fill out a CPA form.

In order to give you a better response you should firstly tell us what's your blog about. If you have a health related blog you can monetize it with Google ad sense or free trial offers( affiliate marketing).You can also offer click bank products and get commission for every sale.

Nothing is easy if you work hard and regularly you are going to earn money.( depending on how much you work)
