Hello,

I have a WordPress blog and it didn't have any meta data (it was auto generated). I gave the website a facelift and optimized it quite a bit in the past few days, including downloading the Yoast plugin. Then I went back and put in all my meta data, so the SEO light would turn green. This included adding better meta titles. I did a manual search in Google for my site, but the old meta is still displaying (I am on page 4). I have a medium competition keyword. Do I just need to give it more time or are their additional steps I need to take in order to get my new meta titles and descriptions into Google (rather than the auto-generated ones)?

Thanks

As per my experience it takes time, but you can try google web master tool for faster crawl.

You need to get Google to crawl your page and make sure that is the only Meta data you have on your site. Once Google crawls it, it should update instantly..

Awesome, thank you!

I created a Google + Page and started sharing the posts for backlinks. I hope that helps them to crawl faster lol. It is certainly helping the traffic this morning!
