Hi
I just don't understand this thing. It's possible, that i have made some wrong move in some part from the hassle!
But okey! My hosting provider collapsed and the site was down about two weeks.
My site was made in WordPress and did daily back ups using "updraftplus" free.

Today i got new hosting service! I did have the back ups with my!
Before i can upload the back ups i did have to install the WordPress and install the updraftplus.

Then i uploaded the back up files using the plugin.
The updraftplus informed that there was only one error and that was the ssl thing.
I was like no problem let's resume.

I knew immediately that the former WordPress username and password aren't working.
i tested those and that was correct.
So i have to change those something else!

I used this Guide to set it up!
hostgator dot com/help/article/how-to-reset-wordpress-password

I wanted to change the password using that phpMyAdmin method.

I changed the password and i think it was successful because the changed data has been modified
to that what i wanted to by

But right know when i try to login to the WordPress control panel
MYSITE dot com/wp-login dot php

it does not recognize the password or user account and I am unable to log in to the page...

The site is up and running, but what i am doing wrong?
Do i have to change something in some other place?

Is the reason for this fuck up that installed the WordPress two times?
  • Installation before backup.
  • and after the backup, there came the new files so that is new installation..
Thanks for the help!

I got it to work... but right know the site is a mess when i look the wordpress notifications.... fuck :weep:

You mentioned your hosting provider shut down. Maybe around that time updraft ran the backup, the site wasn't fully functional. Did you try a different backup from a previous date?

With the backups you have from Updraft, you should have an SQL and file directory backup. You could also try manually restoring these through CPanel.

Thanks man.
I got it to work. The Updraft backup files ruined the use of many add-ons and had to reinstall a few again.
Hard to say if all is working, but i think it's okey right know. Just have to optimize the site using the gtmetrix dot com.
Some elementor bugs and some other things. The site opens in 3.1 seconds..

Have to check someday when i have more time. :)
