I suggest you use Dareboost and look to fix all the issues.

By far the biggest "time-consumer" is your redirect to /blog
On Wordpress you can select your homepage to show your latest posts without forcing a redirect to /blog. This little tweak will save you 3 sec.

Adsense ads they’re the culprit, then it could be host, your caching plugins and theme

Wordpress has nothing to do with this, that is your problem. It can be of your Hosting, Plugins, Themes... Is not the fault of Wordpress, unless you are using wordpress free hosting.
It's easy to fix.
Switch to another plan or hosting with better specs, VPS with SSD Disks you will see a big improvement, and it is very affordable.
Use Cache, Compress images (using online services tools)
CDN (Cloudflare is free and helps saving bandwidth)
Disable Plugins you don't need
Search for decent Hosting Network, on your country or in the country you want to target your public.

One of the major reason for wordpress to load slow is that you have installed a lot of plugins which affects the backend of your website. This doesnt specifically affect the page load speed of your website but it affect the load time of your wordpress dashboard. Try removing few of the unwanted plugins or the duplicate plugins which does the same work as other plugins. I would also advice to use a combo plugin which offers more than one service that way you will overal use less plugins that will do the same work.
