WordPress Jobs --- where can i get clients?

I'm a WP developer(newbie)..i know how to code themes either standalone or Genesis framework based..What i need is to get clients who offer that kind of jobs.

You could start on Themeforest. When you are able to produce quality templates the clients will come to you.
A different option would be a freelance/contest based network or start your own company and rank your website.

You could also sign up as a contractor on Upwork, list all your skills there and bid on different jobs that come in.

Since I started posting regularly here, work has trickled in to me on its own.
I have thought if I periodically spent time other places like here, I might get more clients.

People just message me out of the blue. Occasionally I land something from the freelance section but usually not.

Join forums related to internet marketing , SEO etc. In almost all the forms there is a section for developers to post the job. That's the best way to get started. Upwork / freelancer too competitive for a newbie.

Themeforest works great for freelancers but I would most definitely stay away from it if you're still new to the screne. If you just submit any subpar entry there it's going to be rejected every single time.My suggestion is to get a lot of practice and do a lot of research, then move to themeforest as it is the biggest platform.

I'm not in this niche but have shopped for and used a megaton of themes. I would suggest getting a theme or plugin listed on wordpress. From what I've seen, it's not always easy. There is this panel of as*holes that has to approve it and stuff and will tear it apart and demand perfection down to the last holy SPECK, and they act like fkn wikipedia moderators. Lordy.

Also, finding crappy websites, building a mock-up, emailing the mock-up to them with a price works, but you have a sales ratio of like 1:20 generally with that, back when I did it anyway, and that was locally. You could always offer free website with the hosting and make money that way.

If you want big bucks hit up the money companies, there are methods here on bhw outlining that. One that comes to mind is auto dealerships, they often have crappy sites (the smaller outlets) but also the money to pay for a better one.. plus they drive a lot of leads online. Another one that just popped into my head is auction houses... good GOD do they have HORRID websites. Anyway, once you get one client like that, they start telling their buddies or their competition sees and wants one too.

Locally is Definitely the best way to get clients, once you have honed your skills and can build high quality with a low cost then I would put themes on themeforest and get clients from there as well.
