I've installed wordpress both manually and through Fantastico and the likes before.

However, I've taken on a client to help them with their site and they gave me their hosting details and this is what appears in cpanel.

Any idea how to add wordpress to this, can't seem to find details on ftp or anything here.

Honestly, they need to upgrade their hosting. I have had to tell clients that before because I couldn't access/create SQL databases.

yeah. a screenshot of cpanel...what do you want me to do, explain what every icon is for?
You have to setup a database basically, then put your files on the server with ftp...then go to domain and enter database info. it really is not that difficult...someone with a "client" ought to know how to do what they are charging someone for. just my opinion.

Well, I've had cpanel before but can't find out how to access ftp from this version which is the whole point.

Thanks to everyone else who contributed something of value to this thread.

Just download cuteftp or something and use their domain with their user/pass. It'll probably be in something like public_html/domain.com/ just upload your wordpress files there.

They have probably given you a user account or maybe they got it from their hosting provider with inadequate permissions. Such permissions can be assigned in WHCMS. Ask the to give more permissions or contact the hosting company.

Ive noticed in the picture is says 0/0 for sql databases...they need to upgrade the hosting package so you will have access to a sql database (you have to have one to run wordpress).

As for the FTP...i find it weird that its not on the cPanel. Why dont you phone or e-mail the hosting company and ask them for the ftp details...or post the name of the hosting company here and maybe someone on the forum hosts with that same company and they can help you.

Yes, csguy is right, the other option is through ftp. But the big problem is once you've installed wordpress the real problem begins, you can't go into you're wordpress dashboard because sql_hostname and sql_username needs to be configured first. I guess they had purchased a just a disastrous plan, the only way is to upgrade their plan.

Is this a free hosting account? It looks so much more less than paid shared hosting accounts with cPanel.

Email tech support. They must have forgotten to give you access. I have had this happen a few times. With cPanel they can easy turn on support for simple scripts or fantastico. Hopefully their support doesn't take days to get back to you.

If thy don't have support for that. Tell your client in a polite way, that their host sucks. Then up sell them on your "awesome hosting company" (insert affiliate link here).

Problem solved and you win both ways.

Their hosting provider hasn't added fantastico or anything to their cpanel. Just install manually through FTP and make a database in cpanel.

This. That's CPanel's email-hosting theme. They need to either upgrade their account or switch provider, as noted before. There will be no FTP, no database, etc. in such an account.

Doesn't matter if you don't see wordpress on the cpanel. Just install it from scratch. That's actually even better imo.
