wordpress & impact on serp

Greetings -

Has anyone noticed that using wordpress has a negative effect on your serp? my competitors who rank higher than me, all of them have websites that is not based on wordpress, drupal and other similar architecture. They all seem to be simple sites that they have written themselves.

would appreciate any insight on any correlation between using wordpress and serp.

wordpress very suggested for long term...all pro blogger recommended to using wordpress platform, all they're tags index by google, and there's so many seo plugin there. That's only my opinion. Please ask other opinion also.
 
So you are saying that..Googlebot crawls website, everything looks okay, but, since its wordpress it will rank this site 4th on serps. Please dont make up myths
 
it could be your theme. In general Google likes word press because of its good URL structuring among other things
 
That is absolute bullshit. Google don't care what CMS or no CMS that you are using.
 
The structure of your website, keyword strategy and amazing content will make your website rank. Google doesn't care whether you're using a CMS or not.
 
Static pages are 10X faster than wordpress. I recently made a site static and it got a rather nice boost on the SERPs, all long tails moved up, though the main page and main kw's did not move. So for weaker kw's it did help.

Also I've been seeing people remove the wordpress headers so they're not detected. You can tell a site is wordpress by going to address/wp-admin/ but when you look at the root page source and response headers, nothing there about wordpress.

There may be a correlation here: if Google's artificial intelligence finds that X% of wordpress sites are slow, it may somehow correlate WP to slow sites in the ranking algorithm.

Google DOES track what wordpress version you use. They warn you in webmater tools if your WP is outdated.....so they do monitor Wordpress...and probably Joomla and other CMS.

I know there's a big boost for static sites right now but it's probably related to speed, not platform.
 
blogspot may get SERP boost because of sub domain factor but wordpress will do favor in long run
 
If you want to use wordpress, you'll have to make sure you get plugins and cache that will make your site faster.

personally I develop all on wordpress with custom themes and cache it until I get a score of 85/100 on https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ .

This is the only speed metric that matter to me.
