What is your opinion? Does having your main page as a static format rank better or worse than a blog format for seo?

Either option is equally good or bad. I've ranked both with almost same efforts.

Yea, it really doesn't matter which. What matters is how you plan to have your site crawled, i.e. the links on your homepage.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been making a living online for a while now but I'm just now getting into the SEO game and I'm just trying to work out all of the little details.

The blogs I buy all are static, but the ones I make myself are blog-style. I can rank neither of them equally :(

I've had the same response from both types, it doesn't matter at all.

Agreed. It doesn't really matter. As long as you link it correctly and use good keywords, you should be good to go.
