Hey guys ,
I have Registered a domain , now time to setup a website n i m a newbie in IM.
Pls help to let me know where can i find the "one of the best WP tutorial".

And what free theme will suit my blog
Techie blog, theme required something simple clean n Free

I have also registered for web hosting.

If you want basic tutorials, youtube have all you need.. like upload, creating database, installing and others.. but for custom theme, you can ask in here..
 
Some hosting services, like GoDaddy, have one-click feature to install WordPress.
If your hosting is unmanaged, just check WP's tutorial for installation. Here is the link : http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

For themes, it will depend on you. Do you want free themes or paid themes?
 
What sort of hosting have you got to accompany the domain? As said above some hosting packages offer one click installs, but if your installing on say a centos VPS then you will need to install it manually, or use a cpanel. Webuzo offers a cpanel alternative with one click installs and costs something like $2.50 a month, although you would be better off installing manually for site speed in the future

Okay , yup i read one .. but for custom theme .. how do i proceed .. i want it for free at the moment .. sry but budget problem .

Have installed the WP finally , thanks for your share :-) . mine is one click install .
Themes , please do suggest and i want it for free right now - designed for blogging .

Yes its the one click install - so its installed now .. however struck in domain name mapping , then finally after digging in , found - need to change the nameserver ip at godaddy ( from where i have owned the domain) to my currently hosting nameserver . :-) .
 
Now all you need to do is find a nice theme (search the web or wp directory) and find a few plugins. One vital plugin every wp blog should have is 'WP Super Cache' to improve site speed, read a tut or watch a video to help get set up properly. You can monitor your site speed and how the plugin affects it with websites like kingdom tools or gtmetrix
 
you can download free themes from fmeextensions.net or creativethemes.net. Complete details are mentioned in the guide.
 
Okay guys - thanks for your response , actually i am consultant for one of the technology and got struck over there for office calls so could not reply .
Now to proceed - This week working on content creation . learning on WP website creation ( have got it installed )
Theme - i would like your suggestion - from your experience . Should be free , specific to blogging .. and clean - easily readable .

Niche - would be my tech area - to start area .
okay .. i will check it out for the pluggins , just a quick query - do i also required to setup some kind of database - like mysql or anything .

No the mysql database would have automatically been created with the one click install, you only have to make a database if installing manually.

All you literally have to do now is go to your site/wp-admin/install.php and set up the blog which takes 5 minutes, from there you can then navigate to your domain and you will see you your blog with the base theme and some hello world posts.

Login at your domain/wp-admin or /wp-login to change your theme, add logos, plugins, create posts, pages.

Themes vary so browse and see what suits your niche, some themes feature posts on home screen, others don't so for a blog you would want your home page to have post thumbnails rather than without (like a business website)
 
you can use twenty twelve theme for normal blog site, but if you want to create colorful site then you can use , Coloria theme or for ecommerce you can use woocommerce theme.
 
Google and YouTube are your friend, mate. Search around, research, explore. If you're really, really, really new, then using Wordpress.com instead of self-hosted Wordpress might be better.

If you have a webhost, they may be able to help you figure out where to go next. If you don't have a host yet, I'd recommend WestHost.

I would add this:

- don't forget to set Post Name for your permalinks
- use twenty twelve, twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen until you get hang of WordPress

Changing themes is easy when you know how to use WP but trying to do it all in one day is overwhelming. You don't need to get it perfect from day 1. Just get to work. Once you understand how WP works you will know what theme to use. I wouldn't go for free themes other than those I mentioned above.

Also I prefer Hyper Cache Extended to WP Super Cache. Simpler to use. Less technical problems.
