    first of all, i would like to thank this great community for having such great resources for my money making needs :)

    so my question is, i have a banner on my header but the height of it is blocking my top menu since it's pretty big.

    how can i position my top menu to be at the bottom of my banner without it blocking it?

    what type of php file should i edit for this?

    thanks in advance.

    You could use CSS. <div style="position: relative; top: 200px">menu is in here</div>
    You'd have to figure out the number of pixels, I am just giving example.

    Your menu is probably in the 'header.php' file. Go into Appearance > Design > Theme Editor

    Well, his code is correct, you're not using it correctly. You need to wrap your menu in those tags, and it will work if you do it correctly. Post the code you're talking about here and I'm sure someone can help you out further.

    I should have mentioned that if you are using inline styles inside of php tags, you can't use double quotes unless you escape them. Maybe that's the problem. In PHP it would look like one of the following:

    <div style=\"position: relative; top: 200px\">menu is in here</div>

    <div style='position: relative; top: 200px'>menu is in here</div>

    If you're using the style sheet method you could just add:

    position: relative; top: 120px;

    or whatever number of pixels you want inside the #header { } style tag. By the way, I am a little confused by your use of: div#header

    If you have a div tag with an id of 'header' you don't need to put 'div' before #header.

    Also, if you are repositioning the header div itself, that may cause a problem unless that's what you want to do. Don't forget to save changes to the file before viewing it after adding code. Sometimes it's easy to forget that.

    div#header{
    width:970px; - Change this to like width:920px Are what ever
    margin:0 auto;
    background-image:url(img/GREEN/bg.gif);
    background-repeat:repeat-x;
    margin-bottom:10px;
    height:155px; - Change this height:120px Are what ever
    border:1px solid #cccccc;

    That should work Thats how I change all my headers in wordpress hope that helps its an easy fix play around with the width and height till you get how you like it
