Wordpress drawbacks when it comes to SEO?

I'm learning. Hope this isn't too stupid a question, but is Wordpress a bad choice for blogging when it comes to SEO? I have other packages available through hostgator. Don't want to invest alot of time to find out later that I should have started with somehting else. Thanks!

Wordpress is the best choice when it comes with SEO, not only best I guess great

wordpress has the most plugins and widgets to do whatever you want them to. i use it for everything!

Wordpress is the way to go. Just add a plugin like Platinum SEO and fill in the blanks and your SEO is done (for that page). It sure beats doing html coding.

Anyone have a link(s) where I can view a list of plug-ins, get the scoop on what they do and maybe find a couple free real estate themes. (I ain't payin $400 for the couple I like!)
