Alright so i've decided to switch over to wordpress for my local business for all the obvious reasons ( from squarespace ).

Looking at the plans they offer ( Personal , premium , Business , E commerce ), Is it advised to go with the Business plan for more money?

Am I going to be significantly limited on the cheaper plans? Seo and Rank 1 SERP is my priority and will do whatever is necessary to get there.

Thanks guys! Love the forum .

You mean wordpress the platform or wordpress.com hosting? Professional hosting does make all the difference.

Go for a WPX hosting plan (even smallest plan should work for you if it's a business site)... then get someone to create you a site.

Ok i've confused myself. I really am a huge noob to all this.

I am being hosted on squarespace where I also designed the website. I was going to move to wordpress.com for hosting and a new design.

You guys recomend I use WPX to host? Does that mean I create the website there as well or on wordpress.com then host it through WPX?

Please forgive my stupid question XD

I think If you want to save your money you should focus at the SEO service cost that will save you more.

you get WPX hosting (fast hosting, good support). Install WordPress (software/script) through softaculous (or ask the support to do it for you). Then you can do whatever you want with it (create a backup first - so you can always roll back if things go south)

Will it still have all the design tools and functionality of wordpress.com? They make it so easy to make a website I'll just have to spend time on seo.

Do you recommend hiring seo services or learning and doing it myself? Also are all blackhat seo services high risk? I don't want to botch my good website url.
