    Hello,

I am new to wordpress and can't seem to find my way out of this.

I want to make a custom page which i can display on my website. Basically i need a calculator on my page in php, which i have made but cant seems to find a way to include it on my wordpress site

    What i have done is

    1. Copy the "page.php" template page and rename it to "calc.php"

as i have read that wordpress find pages in this order

"somepage.php" template page -> "page.php" generic template page

it will look for a specific page template and if not available then it will show the content on the generic "page.php"

    2. What i dont understand is that i have created calc.php but i cant seem to find a way to include it in my menu. When i create a page named "calc" in wordpress it doesnt show calc.php for that page it shows the generic "page.php" which doesnt have that additional calculator at the top which i want.

I am using the generic theme "Twenty Eleven" i have use other themes as well but cant seems to find a way to include my customised "calc.php"

Any help would be high appreciated.

    Thanks :)

in the page settings for calc there is a templates dropdown, you need to select the calc.php template you made, go to wordpress dot org and search for page templates for a step by step guide
