You can use OptinMonster to locked content, it has feature hide content from user and show hidden content to search engine.
Also check plugins like: MemberPress, Subscribe to Unlock Opt-In Content Locker Lite, Wpforms, Secure Copy Content Protection and Content Locking etc.

Maybe bcuz many of these plugins were considered spammy
