k so I'm building a magazine-style website on a popular sports niche and I was wondering if their was a plugin or a simple way of doing this..

I want this site to have:

    -Forum
    -News/Blog

So basically I want something that once they login they can access the forum and comment on news/blog posts. Is their an easy way of going about this? and how?

**Also does anyone recommend a forum platform for WordPress?

You could try bbpress or vanilla forums.
A few years ago when I was new to IM I tried unsuccessfully
to integrate a forum but in the end created the folder
    MyBlog.com/forum and installed phpbb there.

you can usually comment on blogs, you could also use a plugin so they could sign in with facebook, gmail etc save em from signing up, also check out some of the buddypress stuff, wordpress has a forum now that can be installed, forget the plugin name doh

Really considering just installing a vbulletin in its own mywebsite.com/forum directory because a lot of the wordpress forums look kinda cheesy..

I just thought it'd be smoother if once they logged into the website it didn't make them type in their info to post a blog or go type in login info on the forum.. Thanks for the replies guys!

Along these same lines is there a plug in for membership sites. I want my viewers to be able to pay for a membership if they want access to more information and to be added to a mailing list for a newsletter.
