After building and maintaining pure webshops the last years, I decided to go for a blog to create some beer money and getting warm with that again.

So while I create the content and setting the site up, I thought off putting a cooming soon page in place. That way I could build a list with the peoples that come from the sm accounts I gonna set and warm up while developing the page.

Could you suggest a WP plugin for that? Doesn't need to be too fancy with connections to feedburner or something like that.

Also has anyone experience with that?

    Thanks

I have used a few but (in my opinion) the best is maintenance mode

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/

It's free for most things, no need to upgrade. And it gives you a nice background instead of the ugly ones and let's you customize the text.

    Good luck in your endeavors!

you may want to try seedprod (dot) com plugin. It can easily do the things you mentioned.

I don't like coming soon sites. I develop the entire site offline plus content and have that content auto post by date. Then migrate from the local server to the live server. When "not if" I have any issues I toss it into maintenance mode. Do my edits then turn it off. But I know clients what something up asap... so I don't know... If you are using Wordpress there are many, many too many damm plugins for this.

There are loads yes. There is one I normally use -

    Under Construction
    By Noah Kagan

You can use their default style or you can add your own HTML. And then you can also configure an IP that will see the real site that you are working on - and also if you logged in to wp it will show you the real site on the front end and not the landing page.

And yes, landing pages suck but it's better than having a default page from your host or a site that's still written in Latin.

Have used Under Construction and would recommend. Have also used waitlisting tools like waitlist.co and prefinery - make more sense if you are launching a product.
