I am looking for a plugin that will take a list of keywords and automatically create categories with them so i don't have to do them one at a time. Does one exist? If it doesn't, maybe I will hire a freelancer to create one for me. Thoughts? It would really speed up autoblogging.

I have not seen a plugin that does this. The closest thing I've seen is wpomatic creating categories based off the rss feeds it pulls.

I haven't seen this with categories, except for an old plugin that doens't work with the database for current WordPress versions.

But if you want automation, why use categories?

Just make your list, and add the keywords as autotags using the Simple Tags plugin. (search plugins at wordpress.org).

Then use those tags for your menu instead of categories. All the posts can go into the default category, which you don't link to, and Simple Tags will automatically asign posts to the Tags on your list.

Your readers won't be able to tell that you're using tags instead of categories.

Thanks! How does simple tags work with seo? Isn't better to use categories? Or are tags good enough?

Ideally you would want categories because that is what they are designed for, but with a little bit of modification tags could give a simillar effect. Although I doubt it would cost you that much to hire somone to code it up.

What you could try is going to the write new post page, the category creator there is quite fast, perhaps you could setup a macro to do it for you.
