I have a site that I want to put some articles on, advertise a few things with, and try to get ranked of course. I was wondering if I should use a wordpress blog format since I will have a few different articles, and that way I could ping each blog post, or if i should have a regular site with static pages, and each page covers a certain aspect of my keyword. I actually dont want to update it every day, so i actually dont need a blog. But SEO wise, which would be better?

In most cases the difference is that static pages are side-wide linked while posts are only linked from their categories/archives.

So in your case I would go for a WP blog with static pages for your articles. You can still use the Blog later on to post stuff e.g. to get pages indexed etc...

Thanks for the reply.

So I use blog posts for each article, as if it were a regular blog, or create different pages but still have my site set up via wordpress?

Well , you have the link to posts from front page i guess. Also you can use plugins to link to posts from all pages.

Guess most of the people use the normal blog format too

Ok so what I decided to do was make an intro post and post some basic info on the blog part, then I made actual pages and linked to them using text links on the right side and top of the pages to kind of wrap it all up. Seem good? If someone would like to help out in detail Id be happy to PM you my url.
