wordpress blog with a forum

I am trying to figure out how to add a forum to my wordpress site. Any help would be appreciated I tried searching for some post but couldnt find anything.

Yes, I believe so, but people who sign up can post questions and other can answer the thread. There's also SMF but I'm not that savvy in installing scripts so I'm using this.

You could make a subdomain with a forum and tie it in with your main site. Should give you some nice link juice too if it takes off.

In reality there's an overlap between forum and social network -- psychology is similar -- people want to show themselves, and connect with others. Suggestion: think thru your strategy before you select the platform. BTW, this is not WP but I switched from a pure forum platform to Ning and turned off most of the non-forum components. Very clean & friendly site and of course can be linked from your WP.

Wordpress has forum software that is free.

if you install buddypress they also have a bridge plugin to work with bbpress. Really easy to do in your admin dashboard with a few searches.
