hey guys

i am looking for better security for wordpress and now using wordfence only as a plugin

what are the other ways of protecting web site running with wp?

i saw a plugin on codecanyon

Never used the one you mentioned, but there are two great plugins available for free (though both have premium versions):

Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall (great for scanning your site against malware)

iThemes Security (takes some time to configure it properly but even the free version is quite awesome)

Depending on what your needs are (and how your home internet works), the easiest way to secure wordpress is to block people through your .htaaccess.

Most of my sites, I'm the only one that ever has a reason to login, and my IP address at home and at work doesn't change to often. So I just put the code below into my .htaaccess file through the FTP server.

    order deny,allow
    Deny from all
#whitelist work
allow from x.x.x.x
#whitelist home
allow from x.x.x.x

A strong password is one. I also use the plugin below to "rename" my wp-login page. It keeps most bruteforcers away from that page, but some of them still manage to get to it.

Aside from that, updating your themes, plugins, and WP CMS regularly helps.

Well, I didn't tried swift security yet, but I would also suggest to check with iThemes security. This is by far the best (and the most easy to use) security plugin for WordPress. It's updating regularly. I consider it to be an essential one.
