Wordpress autoblogging question?

Go easy on me I'm new here. Been reading a little bit but I'm confused about wordpress. I want to start creating autoblogs with WPRobot3 but I'm confused where I get a blog from to put wordpress on it. Do I install wordpress on a blogger blog or do I just get a blog from wordpress?

My goal for the autoblogs I'm going to create is to make money off them.

Someone help me out here I'm really confused.

Best option is to host your own blog. You get a domain, hosting account and setup wordpress at the host.

Blogger and wordpress.com blogs are hosted at blogspot and wordpress.com.

Wordpress is the open source CMS most popular for blogs, basically software. Wordpress.com confuses the issue a bit because you can host a free blog there.

you go to wordpress website and download the files for wordpress.

you set up the mysql database and user in your cPanel.

upload the files for wordpress into your root folder ( or wherever you want the blog )

install wordpress using the onscreen instructions.

install the wprobot plugin(?) then activate it

BOOM you have an auto-blog

edit: all of this requires that you have hosting for the website. i.e. not blogger.

Both of you guys have been a huge help. Your directions were really detailed and I was easily able to install wordpress on my new domain. Thanks for the help

There is also a small matter of getting a theme template to go with your niche and installing plug ins to help with SEO among other things.

My suggestion if you are totally new to this is hire a freelancer to set up 1 auto blog for you and then build on that.

Heckler gave you instructions for manual install, which is good to learn. Most hosts today have one-click installs. Just look for fantastico or simplescripts in the cpanel.

You put the info in, and the script sets up the db, user and everything to get you started a bit quicker.

One tip - Keep track of your site DBs and other info. You WILL need to know what DB goes with what site at some point somewhere. If they are all named wp_userdbXX you will have to go and look manually. I keep a spreadsheet with all the logins, DBs and any other info I have for each blog.

I say this because if you use the fantastico/simplescripts install the DBs all get generic names. If you manually set them up then you can use whatever you want.

Hope you have success with your new enterprise. WPRobot3 gave me no end of issues with a new blog recently so I reverted to using Autoblogged and everything's fine now.
I'd recommend you check out this course to get things moving in the right direction: Autoblogging Engine- The Only Autoblogging Course You'll Ever Need by Ethne Hunt (search downloads) - it's got some good stuff in it.

If you got it set up and can afford it, make another using Ethne Hunt's approach using Yahoo pipes. Do another site according to those methods, it does give you quite a good basis for autoblogging.

There are many more methods, but you should not start from them all in one go, as it will simply overwhelm you. Getting sth up and working from there is the best approach!

And do a few more searches in this forum for autoblog. I can think of a few more pulgins to use fro autoblogging besides wp-robot. Unless you purchased the wp-robot of course. Deciding by the comments, wprobot has quite a few issues.
