Might be best to just search around the forum for answers to things like this. There are massive threads on all these things and no one is going to sit here and type out an entire onsite SEO practice guide for you. But in short, be sure to include your keywords in all the title description, tags, alt img tag, and maintain a decent keyword density. I use Yoast SEO plugin to perform most of these tasks but each to their own. For more details use the search button

Yoast, Easy WP SEO & awesome unique Content... thats all.. :)

Add a question mark to your thread title when you are asking a question. :)

ok thanks for your replies; I'll search around and combine it all for my next post.

For me, I emphasize on four things:

1. Proper usage of keywords for my niche (both competitive and long tail)

2. Keyword density

3. Outbound links to high PR sites

4. Interlinking between pages

This plus make sure your keyword is in your Title, Description, H1, H2, & H3 Tags, and inside the permalink.

Natural interlinking between posts using unique anchors (this really is an art in itself) and lots of outbound links to authorities in your niche. That works for me in low-medium difficult niches.
