Cross-posting this from Social Networking Sites because it might be resolvable with Wordpress alone, but I'm having an issue with a blog of mine.

I'm trying to switch monetizing strategies and am looking to start using my hosted Wordpress site with ads to embed YouTube videos, instead of just ads on YouTube. When I post the link to the Wordpress post on Facebook, it detects the YouTube video and links directly to that, except when you click on just the title of the link, then it brings you to the linked page.

Are there any tricks around this? I'm assuming it's a limitation caused by Facebook scraping the content that I've embedded on the page, but I've tried multiple plugins and embedding techniques without any luck.

Here is a (crude) example of what happens when I post:

No you'll need to just link to either the original video or the post url

I am linking to the Wordpress post directly, the problem is that Facebook scrapes the post for content and recognizes the YouTube link. The majority of the link preview on Facebook is to the YouTube link directly and not to the Wordpress site, despite that being the URL I linked.

When I do it I add a summery of a post, with the link to the post, so facebook takes the post. Have you tried flushing your facebook page by going to facebook developers?

Thanks for pushing me that way - looks like it was picking up the wrong Caonical URL. Appears to be an issue with how the Theme I am using uses meta tags depending on the post type.

So you flushed facebook ok, I had to do it the other day as it wasn't getting images
